Traditional braces consist of standard metal brackets that are positioned on the teeth with an adhesive and then connected by varying gauges of wires. These braces require periodic adjustment to administer slow and steady pressure overtime that will work to gradually straighten the teeth and align the jaw.  Although the duration of treatment can vary between individuals, typically, traditional braces require 12-24 months of treatment.
